Many career choices spring from a calling to serve others: our communities, our families, patients and clients. All of these vocations enrich all of us and remind us how we all are interconnected on some level. Some of us were born to serve.
The unsung heroes of the elderly community, there is something inherently different about caregivers. Their profession takes extreme patience as well as an internal calling to help those who can not help themselves and have a profound effect on whoever they serve. Caregivers (specifically those from Golden Age Care) take great pride in what they do, their work does not go unnoticed.
We took the liberty of outlining some of the things we feel make our caregivers so great.
Empathetic and compassionate: While working in a home care setting, caregivers feel a desire to want to help. By showing both empathy and compassion caregivers will let the person they are caring for know that they care about the person and want to do what they can to help them.
Patience: Our caregivers are very aware of the fact that patience is of the upmost importance. They are taught to imagine themselves in their clients shoes and picture what it might be like to ask for help. As such they are always prepared and one step ahead of the ball.
Flexible: As with most things in life, home care needs may change and unexpected events can happen. Our caregivers are prepared for anything. They remain flexible so that they can continue provide good home care, even if a rigid schedule isn’t being followed.
Lastly and perhaps the most important.
Reliable: A great caregiver is someone that can be counted on to be there. When you request a caregiver for a specific time or date you can rest assured that our caregivers will be there rain or shine. Those needing home care services need a reliable and dependable caregiver. We here at Golden Age Care are proud to be able to provide that for you.
